Module Description:

A movement and stillness workshop using the body and objects to explore presence and absence.

Building from Palazzo’s recent choreographic work, Our Suspended Corridors, research into spatial self replacement, and other practices. its either on or its off explores the capacity to perform with, through, and be represented by objects. Such practices call into question the capacity, care and legacy of the body, its relation to technology, architecture and territory and queries what we might mean to be a performer’s ability.

An ideal workshop for those exploring new relationships to bodily capability and those interested in embodiment and conceptual choregoraphic practices.

FACILITATOR

Claudia Palazzo is a London born and based artist and dancer working across the intersections and contradictions of dance, performance art, installation, alternative cabaret and film using her body as a responsive site to her environment and territory. Her work exists somewhere between the nightclub, gallery and street, and focuses on the live experience and a place to be able to shift through, let go and sit/deal with. It is often poetic, feral, meditative and violent in its structure, influenced by roots in nightclub culture, inner-city concrete dwellings and psychophysical training..
